“Between Matt Shwachman’s soothing voice and its breezy, spiraling arrangement, ‘Rise Above’ is one of those songs that you only need to hear once to get it stuck in your noggin. That his words are quite uplifting is a bonus that makes ‘Rise Above’ a complete winner of a song.” —Jim Nelson, A Taste Of Triple A

“On his new disc Uncharted Territory, Boston-based Matt Shwachman blends intelligent lyrics that really have something to say, with strong melodies and outstanding musicianship. Track 3, “Rise Above” is a memorable, radio-friendly gem that would impress fans of artists such as John Mayer, Tom Petty and Jason Mraz. Another gem on this CD is “Side Of The Road” – a song that is so full of imagery, I bet it would make a great music video. If you like songs that are acoustic-guitar based, smart and catchy, look no further than Matt Shwachman. He’s not a mailman, but Matt’s music delivers. “ – Skope Magazine

I am excited to announce that I have recruited some great musicians in Chris Corbett (bass) and Nick Jarvis (drums/percussion) to help me form the Matt Shwachman Band. We will be making our debut this Monday, March 10 at T.T. the Bear’s Place in Cambridge, MA (voted best small club live venue in Boston) at 8:30 PM. Also on the bill are Elle Gallo and Pete Richards. It should be a great night of music. We hope to see you there.
